Standby Generator Comparison
A friend of mine asked me to look into standby generators for them the other day as I'm more technical than he is. Here are a few of my findings. As you can see I favored the use of diesel generators. So here goes.
The obvious advantage is that diesel as a fuel is much cheaper and environmentally friendly than other fuels. Cost wise you can expect to save as much as 28-30% off your energy bill.
Diesel generators Ireland can easily provide the power output need of almost anyone requiring a standby generator system. Typical power outputs range from 15kW to 2000kW.
In comparison to a fossil fuelled generator the maintence costs of running a diesel generator are typically cheaper because there are no spark plugs, or carburetors. Diesel generators do use glow plugs but these generally have a longer running life than its petroleum counterpart. Diesel generator lubricants are also less costly than those used in petrol generators
The life expectancy of a diesel generator compared to a petrol generator which have both been keep and maintained equally can be expected to last several years longer that it petrol rival.
With diesel readily available and with diesel generators available in almost all structural types they are certainly worthy of serious consideration.
